Stingers 2 managed to close the gap during the second half but another flurry from UEA 2’s super shooter soon put a stop to that!

It all started off well for Stingers 1 with them taking a commanding 5-0 lead. The second half proved trickier though with Stingers 2 finding their feet ending the game 7-4 to Stingers 1.

By the second half Ice had a two goal lead and try as we might we simply couldn’t get the ball in the basket. Then, towards the end of the half Ice managed to get another two with Stingers scoring a late consolation goal right at the end – the game ending 9-6 to Ice 2.

Stingers 2 took on Ice 2 again this week, but this time had a few more Stingers 2 players available, although most of the boys played straight through. The game started off well enough with Ice 2 being ahead by only one goal at half-time, leading us 3-2. It didn’t stay that way though with Stingers 2 unable to get the ball to go through the basket – hit it yes, but score no. Unfortunately Ice 2 could and by the end of the game, like last week, they finished six goals ahead beating us 9-3.

This was never going to be an easy game for Stingers 2, not only are Ice 2 improving with every game, nearly everyone who played in the Stingers 1 game were now playing in this game. Unfortunately for Stingers 2, Ice 2 took full advantage of this beating us 8-2. Maybe we’ll do better next week?

This game followed just about the same route as every other game against Dragons 2, for the first 15 minutes or so its a pretty close game. Then as we gain in confidence we slowly pull away to victory – Stingers 1 ending the game 18-8 winners.

Special mention has to go to Steve this week, I don’t what he had for breakfast but after an impressive 6 goals in the game I want some!

Stingers 1 started off against a Norwich City team who were short of one player. Although this sounds like it would hand the opposing team an easy win, it doesn’t. However come half time, Stingers 1 had a comfortable lead. Norwich City weren’t going to give up easily and slowly began to close the gap on our lead during the second half, but a quick spurt at the end gave Stingers 1 a 10-7 victory.

With both Dragons 2 and Stingers 2 having a couple of 1st team players playing, the game started off with both teams sharing goals to keep the scores fairly close for the first half of the game. However, 10 minutes into the second half Stingers 2 seemed to go up a gear pulling away from Dragons to secure a win 14-8.

It all started off pretty well with both teams quite evenly matched, but then by the second half it had all gone a bit Pete Tong with UEA 2 seemingly unable to miss a shot – ending 15-6 to UEA2.

Stingers 1 finally managed to get a few shots on target, although not for the want of trying, the score being 6-3 to Stingers 2 at the half way stage.

Stingers 1 came out fighting in the second half and soon had the score at 6-6, but Stingers 2 kept nudging ahead leaving Stingers 1 to do the catching.

With five minutes left the score was at 8-8 but although there was lots of frantic attacking that’s the way it stayed – both teams earning 2 points each.
